The SuperGrans Horowhenua AGM is on 17th April at 10.00am - what better opportunity to check out their new digs.

No to be outdone - Wairarapa SuperGrans have also shifted house - they can now be found at 41 Perry Street in Masterton.  All their contact details remain the same except for the postal address - they have real person delivering their mail so have shut down the post box -  all correspondence should now be sent to their street address.

SuperGrans Charitable Trust has recently opened a field office in Wellington City - After years of operating from the Trust's base in Lower Hutt, it was agreed the time had come to establish a physical presence in Wellington City.  Wellington Coordinator Cheryl McKane and her Wellington based SuperGran volunteer mentors are now based in the city and are sharing premises and resources with the fantastic team from Kaibosh (the amazing group who rescue food items from commercial operations and and redistribute to charities working with people in need).

Cheryl and her team are now easily able to apply efficiences to better service and assist their clients while ensuring a strong presence in the city and with support agencies. If you are in Wellington, call in and say gidday - they would love to see you.

The concern the volunteers had for their client’s wellbeing and in turn the clients concern of their SuperGran volunteers has been heartwarming and while some clients and volunteers have been seriously affected spirits are remaining cautiously high.

Christchurch SuperGrans is working with other social services to ensure they are there to provide support and assistance to their shaken community.
Our love and support go out to our colleagues in Christchurch.

A key goal of the WCC Housing Upgrade strategy is to organize social and recreational programmes and activities.
SuperGrans in partnership with CAP have developed a 6 week workshop designed to teach tenants basic cooking, shopping and budgeting skills along with modules encouraging them to grow their own food and how to “forage” for ingredients that are freely available throughout the city.

This wonderful initative – aptly titled CHEAP AS CHIPS is intended to be rolled out to other WCC Housing Complexes.

A wonderful turnout of staff, both past and present, Supergran volunteers and supporters were there to ensure the celebrations went off with a bang.

Palmerston North Mayor Jono Nayor congratulated Manawatu SuperGrans for their achievements and thanked them for the wonderful contribution the organisation has made and continues to make to the wider community.

Ruth Nuku-Stanshall - Chair of the Board of Trustees then acknowledged the contribution made by key individuals who have worked tirelessly to ensuring the future success of SuperGrans Manawatu.

The cake was a magnificent creation and was very quickly demolished by the collected guests.
Well done Manawatu – we will be back for the 10th
